FUSE

FUSE is a STEAM education program housed within Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy that facilitates student exploration and learning through hands-on, interest-driven challenges inspired by real-world STEAM and design practices. In FUSE, students work in a studio-like environment, learn through making, and develop 21st century skills such as problem solving, persistence and communication. The Mazda Foundation’s funding established FUSE Studios in 10 elementary schools across Greater Los Angeles and Orange County, CA. The program launched in these schools in the fall of 2021. In 2022, the Mazda Foundation’s FUSE challenge will launch across the FUSE network.

College Track

College Track aims to equip students confronting systemic barriers to earn a bachelor’s degree in pursuit of a life of opportunity, choice, and power. Bracken’s Kitchen, in Garden Grove, CA, is committed to rescuing, repurposing and restoring both food and lives through food rescue, culinary training, and community feeding. The Mazda Foundation’s funding supports Bracken’s Kitchen’s Culinary Training Program, which provides at-risk young adults the introductory skills needed for employment in a professional kitchen.
